What
an incredible Saturday our Subaru/SPT/ESX team had in
Hollywood!
Brunch
and mechanical bull riding at The Saddle Ranch Chop
House on Sunset Blvd., overflowing their parking lot
in less than 20 minutes with Subaru's, then cruising
down Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica Subaru for
an awesome raffle!
Now,
thats not our usual Subaru dealer event highlights but
thanks to Santa Monica Subaru for making this event
one of a kind!The
day started with a large group of Legacy sedans and
wagons showing up first.
To my surprise, I asked where all the Impreza owners
were, I got the response that put a smile on our faces
all day. One Legacy owner "James" replied
with the quote of the day. "We
wake up earlier then they do!" Referring
to his late sleeping fellow Subaru "Impreza"
enthusiasts.He
was right, in about 1/2 an hour dozens of Impreza WRX's
and STI's showed up and the parking lot was instantly
at capacity. The dozens of other Subaru enthusiasts
had to find parking on Sunset Blvd. and surrounding
streets. Everywhere you looked, you saw Subaru's.
We had our "Worlds Quickest & Fastest Subaru"
on display, our road racing STi & Customized Tribeca.
In addition to our race cars, 3 of our very rare ESX/STi's
showed up as well!Enthusiasts
enjoyed great food and about a dozen of us, and yes
including me, were brave enough to test their skills
on the mechanical bull! The winner received an Auto
Art 1/18 scale Subaru Impreza model collectable. And
no, I wasn't eligible.
Then
it was off to cruise down Sunset Blvd., to Santa Monica
Subaru. However, before we left we had a last minute
surprise from SOA/SPT rep. Garrick Goh who stopped by
with a new 2008 Subaru WRX! This was the first time
many of the enthusiasts got to see the highly anticipated
new WRX in person!
Since
this was our first time doing an event with Santa Monica
Subaru, we weren't sure what the attendance would be.
However, with over 100 enthusiasts and upwards of 75
Subaru's, we will make sure our next Santa Monica Subaru/Hollywood
endeavor will have more parking!
