Factory supported by Subaru of America, Inc. since late 2001, ESX travels across the nation promoting Subaru and Subaru Performance Tuning (SPT), Subaru's internal performance parts division. The Subaru/SPT/ESX Team, as it's commonly known, attends dozens of Sport Compact Races, Subaru Dealership shows and special events per year.

At Easy Street Motorsports, we honor the enthusiast through quality, craftsmanship and the skills of proper installation. The staff personally oversee the selection, fabrication and installation of the every ESX upgrade until every detail is perfect. In 2005, ESX developed the first C.A.R.B (California Air Resource Board) exempt Horsepower kit for the 2004 - 2006 Subaru STi. Thus, addressing the concerns of smog legality and emissions for Subaru enthusiasts across the nation. This 50 State Legal ESX Power Package boasting an additional 65 HP to generate an asphalt tearing 365HP is the first "Street Legal" upgrade in the U.S.
Also, in 2005, ESX released the much anticipated "Ali Afshar Signature Series ESX/STi". A special edition Subaru Sti only available thru participating Subaru dealers nationwide. Named after the Founder and President of ESX, Ali Afshar, this new and exciting line of Subaru's received tremendous media and enthusiast interest. Emulating the ESX race cars, these Special ESX/STi's brought a piece of the ESX racing heritage to the streets!

Ali Afshar
 Biography - Ali Afshar - Raised in Northern California, Ali Afshar grew up in the green hills of Petaluma, just on the other side of the world famous Sears Point International Raceway. Racing motorcycles and horses at the age of 5 on his family’s 200—acre ranch, his passion for speed was already evident. Following in the footsteps of his two older brothers, Pasha and Jonny, Ali was quickly learning how to make everything he touched go faster. His need for speed continued through elementary, junior high, and high school, where he won his first High School Challenge for drag racing at Sears Point in 1991. Thru high school, Ali could be found almost every week at the Sears Point Raceway competing in the Wednesday Night Drags, racing his 13-second 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS. If he ?wasn’t racing he was in Wrestling practice honing his skills. Ali set numerous school records and was a California State Finalist wrestler in 1991.
After high school, Ali relocated to Los Angeles with his family. While fulfilling his parents wishes of studying medicine at California State University Northridge, Ali continued building his own custom street cars. At the same time, he was also pursuing a career in acting for movies and television. His passion for building incredible street cars garnered the attention of many other enthusiasts who came to Ali in hopes that he would build similar vehicles for them. These were the early days of “Easy Street Motorsports”. Ali built many custom cars thru his college years, mainly classic 1955 or 1967 Chevrolets, Oldsmobiles and finally the Turbo Buick Grand Nationals. The Grand Nationals were fiercely competitive with their intercooled turbocharged engines, and Ali was able to accentuate the performance and put Easy Street Motorsports on the map as a true force on the street scene with these cars. Not only did Ali and Easy Street Motorsports now have street credibility, but he was now able to pay for his college tuition building cars and landing the occasional acting role. Ali graduated from the University with ?a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology. However, his true desires led him away from medicine and towards Hollywood where he combined an acting career and racing.
Early in 2001, when Ali was helping his brother pick up a Dodge at a local dealership, he noticed the brand new Subaru WRX being delivered. The dealership was a Dodge/Subaru dealership and the WRX was now available in the states. The popularity of the WRX had always been present in other parts of the world, due to it’s tremendous success in Rally Racing. But now, people here in the U.S. could also enjoy the street version of the rally car. Ali bought one that same day, knowing it’s turbocharged, intercooled engines and all-wheel-drive had tremendous potential. He immediately started to pour his years of experience and racing into this WRX. Since ?he already had success with other turbocharged and intercooled race cars, he was able to quickly build his ?Subaru and start racing it in a completely different venue—Drag Racing. With the tremendous popularity of the import scene and the success of Hollywood blockbusters like Fast & Furious, Ali brought Subaru to a whole new arena and put the WRX on the map as a true street contender.
His first accomplishments were seen by the world when his “ESX” (the abbreviated Easy Street Motorsports logo) WRX started beating the highly anticipated BMW M3. This excitement put Easy Street in a few magazines and television programs and started the ball rolling for Ali, Easy Street & Subaru. Thru 2001 and into 2002, Ali was seen all over the west coast with his custom Ferrari Red ESX/WRX. Always wanting to push himself further, Ali enlisted the Australian super tuners, Tony Rigoli Performance (TRP) to help build an engine that would eventually launch Ali into a whole new direction—World Records. In August of 2002, with help from TRP who he had flown in from Sydney, Ali set a newWorld Record with his ESX/WRX. He ran a best time of 10.5 seconds in the quarter mile with a fully streetable, 3200 lb WRX on radial tires, with a full interior, full exhaust, a cd player and power windows. His dedication to keeping his car streetable and lightning fast was still intact. That record has since been taken even further, but you must read on!
Ultimately, creating awe-inspiring performance while maintaining streetability and saftey, safety is what Easy Street Motorsports is all about. He had found his ultimate canvas—the Subaru WRX. Ali was now charging into ?the scene full throttle with the help of Subaru of America’s Western Region. He finished the 2002 year with massive media and television recognition, while maintaining the Worlds Fastest New-Gen WRX. In 2003, with tremendous support from Subaru of America, he started the season with an breath taking 9-second quarter mile run. This elevated the bar even higher and now the little red ESX/WRX was an international superstar. Traveling all over the U.S. in 2003, he and his Subaru/ESX team was able to clinch 4 NHRA wins and push his WRX to run an unheard time of 9.6 seconds @ 145mph at the NHRA World Finals in Pomona, California. The Easy Street Motorsports/Subaru team finished 2003 winning 7 of the last 8 races attended and won not only 1, but 4 ?straight NHRA first place trophies know as “Wally’s”
Ali was able to balance his tremendous success racing with his growing career in acting. While the Subaru’s massive flat four engine was buzzing, Ali was also landing roles in movies such as “Three Kings”, “Godzilla” ?and “The Siege”, and reoccurring TV roles on the CBS hits “The King Of Queens” and “Jag”. He was also having success landing guest star roles on such shows as “The Agency”, “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment”, “Saved by the Bell”, “City Guys”, and the voice of the “Phantom Ranger” for 2 years on the hit children series “Power Rangers”. Ultimately Ali’s string of guest starring roles led him to his first lead role as the villian against Chuck Norris in the CBS Movie of the Week, “The Presidents Man, A Line in the Sand”. In 2004, he will be starring in a recently finished episode of the CBS show, “NCIS”, and in the Movie of the Week, “Homeland Security” this April. But don’t go looking for the name “Ali Afshar” in the credits—you won’t find it. He goes by his stage name “Alex Dodd”, which is derived from his true first name, Alidad (pronounced “Ali Dodd”).
In 2004, Ali and his Easy Street Motorsports team were very excited to be launching an extremely visible U.S. tour with help from Subaru of America, (all 5 regions), and the special SPT ( Subaru Performance Tuning) parts department. The SUBARU/SPT/ESX tour is sure to be one to watch in 2004. They will be attending many different races, shows and Subaru Dealerships all over the U.S. While elevating Subaru to an even faster pace, Ali will continue his passion for speed, plus maintain and promote Subaru’s unique performance, value and prestige.
At the end of 2004, Ali held a nationwide contest titled the, "Maximum Velocity" Female driver search for a new female driver to pilot his NHRA championship Subaru WRX. After the hundreds of entries were reviewed, 19 year old Julie Stepan from Grand Prairie, TX., was named the winner. Julie and the world record holding Street Class Subaru WRX went on to win 10 NHRA first places and the 2006 NHRA National Championship! The fastest this street legal Subaru has gone now is 9.0 seconds in the 1/4 mile at over 150mph!

Ali and his ESX team partnered with Rocket Rally and entered the Rally America Series in 2005! This being the first time ESX was involved with off road rally racing. Their red and white Subaru WRX/STi sat on top of the podium numerous times and ultimately won the entire Rally America series!??Ali also achieved another historic first for Subaru in Road Racing, when he built and entered a Subaru STi in the world famous "Long Beach Grand Prix"! This was the first time a Subaru had been entered into the World Challenge Speed GT series. The ESX Subaru battled against the factory Cadillac, Vipers, Corvettes and Porsches and held it's ground! In 2007 Ali will be entering this race again in hopes of showing the big V8's and V10's what an all wheel drive, turbocharged Subaru can do!
Ali also built the one of a kind, carbon fiber, full tube chassis, 1200HP, all wheel drive Subaru! This Subaru placed 3rd in the NHRA in it's first year of competition. Won it's first NOPI race in 2006 and has the record for the Worlds Quickest and Fastest Subaru! This Subaru thunders down the 1/4 mile in 7 seconds at over 175 MPH!
Ali and his ESX team are enjoying a fantastic 2007 year. Marking the last year of his partnership with Subaru of America, Inc., Ali finished off the 2007 NHRA season with another National Championship! ESX is now proud to be a "Back to Back" 2006 & 2007 National Championship team!
Ali has also turned his full attention back to his acting career. After a few years of full time racing, records and national championships have been written into the history books, Ali has signed with a new management team IAG (Impact Artists Group), theatrical agency A.K.A. and commercial agency Reign.
Landing his first role back from his racing "Hiatus", Ali can be seen in a supporting role due out next year in the feature film "He's Just Not That Into You", based on the best selling book. Ali (or Alex) is playing the character of "Skip" along side a star studded cast including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Connolly, Ben Affleck, Justin Long, Kevin Connolly & more! This movie is directed by Emmy Nominated Director Ken Kwapis and is due to hit theatres in 2008!
