World's Fastest Subaru Makes Appearance in Chandler, AZ Feb 20: Press Release

World’s Fastest Subaru Makes One-Day Appearance at Subaru Superstore of Chandler CHANDLER, AZ. – February 10, 2010. The world’s fastest Subaru is touring the nation and making one stop in Arizona. The Subaru Superstore of Chandler hosts the speedster and its driver, Ali Afshar, on Saturday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Afshar, founder of ESX Motorsports, is a 2 time NHRA National Champion, 2 time Battle of the Import Series Final Champions, and 2005 Rally America Champion. After racing for Subaru of America for 7 years, Afshar returned to acting, landing a roll in the feature film “He’s Just Not That Into You”, and TV appearances in “JAG”, “NCIS”, and “The King of Queens”. Afshar will be signing autographs and answering questions about the Subaru STI during the February 20th event. The ESX Motorsports team built the world’s fastest Subaru All-Wheel Drive STI which runs 1100 Horsepower, a 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in 8.9 seconds. Since 2004 the ESX Motorsports team won dozens of championships in the Number One Parts Incorporated (NOPI) Drag Racing Series and the Import Drag Racing Circuit (IDRC). The one-day event hosted by the Subaru Superstore of Chandler features raffle rides in the street legal 1400 HP All-Wheel Drive Subaru STI, photo opportunities with guest models, Jessica Barton and Alanna Kolette, and free food and beverages.
